Our Garden

Our family has been very hard at work building a garden. We took a 25' x 25' section of our yard and decided to turn it into a garden. It took about a week just to get rid of all the grass. It was an incredible process. Who knew grass could be so heavy! After the grass was all gone, we had tons
and tons of rocks to get rid of. I'm talking rocks of all shapes and sizes. We had about 5 boulders that needed to be moved (ouch!) and too many other rocks to count. We finally got the garden
emptied (for the most part) of those stupid rocks, but found other things in there. It turns out this section of the yard was the dump site for the trash when our house was being built. No wonder we had drainage problems!

Today we finally got our garden finished. We have cucumbers, tomatoes, hot peppers, Japanese eggplant, carrots, watermelon, sweet corn, broccoli, and herbs growing - at least we hope they will grow.

I'm so proud of all of our hard work that I decided to scrap pictures of it. I used Trixie Scraps Designs' new kit - My Summer Garden. You can find the kit at Scrap Matters and Gotta Pixel.

Now I get to look forward to weeding and watering. Hopefully the veggies and fruits will grow to make all of the hard work worth it.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

What do you do with your layouts?

I'm at the point where I'm trying to figure out what to do with my layouts? Do I print them? Do I do a book with them? Are they even good enough to put them in a book?

I know some friends do yearly family books. I was thinking I was going to do that, but then what about all those school events? Then I talked to my friend Tabby (Scrapberry Designs) and she said she is making a book for her kids of their school years. I thought that was a great idea - but then I started wondering more. Can you tell I think too much about non-important stuff?

Do I put my school layouts only in the school album? Do I include them in the family album too? If I do that then why do I need a school album? If I do a school album that I will print/buy after I scrap their high school graduation pictures, etc in it - should I redo the school layouts I did before in paper?

I guess it comes down to how many albums do my kids really want to carry around with them as they move on with their adult life? Will they even want them? That then brings me back to the beginning - should I just save them all to a DVD and not print any?

Thoughts? Opinions?

Been Awhile Huh?

I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. I think between my family and then the Queen of Scrap contest at Scrap Matters I haven't had much time. Now it seems the teachers at my kids' school are throwing all the events they can for the kids. That means that I'm living at the school. Thankfully school will be done on the 22nd.

I hope once the kids are home I'll be able to start writing more.
